Raw is one of the strongest and most professional DIY CNC machines in the market for the same price as many other similar machines. Other machines are mostly based on the V-slot concept and has plastic wheels directly against the aluminum profile which is good until you get aluminum shavings between the two. A standard Raw machine comes with Steel wheels that rolls on a steel axis. A Raw machine uses 15mm steel reinforced timing belts instead of 6 or 9mm belt that is more suitable for 3D printers. And the best part is that you can upgrade Raw to racks, tougher electronics and make it up to 180x130cm in size.

If you have never worked with a CNC machine, you will discover a whole new world of manufacturing. A CNC machine can mass-produce parts with extreme accuracy and speed. As soon as you have drawn and set a piece to be cut, just load it into the machine and it produces the same part in infinity. Compare it with standing for hours in front of the band saw and doing the same. A CNC machine is like a very good employee who works around the clock without whining.

Raw is among the first aluminum machines. There are a lot of copies on our machine, which is fun, what’s less fun is that they chose cheap parts in plastic and shaky designs. We have chosen to go the other way and today our machine is the strongest and most serious “Do-it-yourself” machine on the market. Many who buy other models, realize that they are too weak and switch to this machine. A raw can weigh up to 40-60 kilos and only the plates weigh 10 kilos and are made of up to 8mm aluminum. Compare it to other machines that have 3mm aluminum or steel plates. A Raw uses industrial parts for the same price as other machines, you can’t build a machine from toy parts, you need good components to make your machine work well.

A Raw machine is perfect for wood cutting and easier aluminum machining. The result will be very good and up to 1/10mm in precision, but it depends on you and your settings.

So why are we changing our products?
We have noticed that most users wants a machine that is not too complicated to build so we will do like the rest of the market and sell a complete machine that requires minimal assembly. But unlike other machines you can grow with a Raw and upgrade it with racks, steel and better spindle, electronics and different sizes.

Racks or belt drive?
Both are good for machines that is no longer/wider than 100cm, for longer or wider machines we recommend upgrading to Racks. Timing belt machines are much cheaper to build, and we recommend you start with belt. All videos below are machines with racks, but you will get the same result with belt.
